There are a lot of Subscription Boxes out there these days. The three I get most months are Allurial (Special Edition Romantasy), Book of the Month (Wide Variety Hardcovers), and Aardvark. There are also several other book boxes, but most of them have waitlists, so I’m focusing on the ones that you can just join up on at any time. I did skip this month on Aardvark, but next month I’ll probably try to pick up some books they are offering. Aardvark is the one most likely to have books that aren’t in any other book boxes, so it’s worth checking out.
Allurial is the most tempting of the three for me, and I tend to get all the books available – three are released each month, and they have series commitments as add-ons that you can order months ahead of time.
This month was no exception. I have five books coming, which for this month is all the titles available.

Book of the Month is the main book box that I’ve had for years, though I have skipped many months in the past (mostly due to lack of funds), but this month there were a few that I really wanted. Alas, my bank account said otherwise, so I stuck to just one monthly pick. But if you are a fan of Fantasy, Sci-Fi, or Romance, if my bank account didn’t stop me, these are all the books I would have gotten.
The first book is the one I included in my box; the rest I hope to add maybe next month as an add-on if they are still available. Luckily for me, they don’t sell out of books as quickly as Allurial, so there’s definitely a chance for me to get them later on.
The Wretched Divine

The Witches of Cambridge
Release Date: 9/8/2026
BotM Quick Take: Bonds are brewed in this novel about a secret sorority for witches. Here, sisters don’t rush—they’re chosen by blood.
Why I want it: This is by Alice Hoffman, writer of Practical Magic. With the movie sequel coming out soon, I figured this would get me in the mood for the movie. Sadly, the BotM version is already sold out, so if you want it, you’ll need to find it on Amazon.
The Pirate Queen
Release Date: 9/8/2026
BotM Quick Take: This misty, sea-tossed saga follows a noble daughter as she defies convention and becomes the captain of her own ship.
Why I want it: Female power! Running off to become a pirate! Just sounds like a fun and epic read. Though there are some content warnings, so fun might not be the best word to use. Sadly, the BotM version is already sold out, so if you want it, you’ll need to find it on Amazon.
Bones
Original Release Date: 1/24/2024
BotM Quick Take: She spent her whole life healing others’ wounds. Can the ragtag band of rebels that captured her help fix her own?
Hot Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
Why I want it: This is something that’s been on my TBR a while. I’ve heard good things about it, and it sounds like an epic story of rebellion, love, and found family. This is the first in the series, and next month it may be on Allurial, so I’ll either get it there or on BotM if it’s still available. If you want it, you can find it on Amazon.
