Book Review: Bride

Bride follows vampire Misery Lark, who is an outcast due to her upbringing in the human community, as she agrees to marry Were Alpha, Lowe Moreland, as part of a historical alliance between vampires and weres.

It starts fully as a marriage of convenience, but you find out quickly that Misery is there to find her best friend, and the only lead she had was her now-husband, Lowe.

This is the first of a two-book series, but they are both mostly standalone. I, oddly enough, read book two, Mate, first and only now got around to reading Bride. I will say, I liked Mate more than Bride, but I still thoroughly enjoyed this book. I have always preferred werewolves and shifters to vampires.

This has some spice, and I wouldn’t count this as high spice, though the spice there is is somewhat descriptive.

This has some enemies-to-lovers, marriage of convenience, and plenty of mystery and intrigue to keep you interested.
If you’re in the mood for a modern paranormal spicy romance, this series is worth a read.

I’m giving it 4 out of 4 stars and raccoons.
