Last week of September book releases, and there are a lot of interesting ones coming out, including a few MAJOR book releases. These are going to be books that probably will be added to Christmas lists, so take note for yourself or for friends and family who love to read.
Threshing Day

There are not many details yet about Threshing Day other than it takes place within the Fourth Wing Universe and is NOT the next book in the Fourth Wing series. I loved Fourth Wing and Iron Flame, but was somewhat meh about Onyx Storm. I am still giving it a chance and have pre-ordered it, but I’m worried I’ll be disappointed like with Onyx Storm. However, this is THE BIGGEST release of the group of books this week. So don’t sleep on it.

Cursed City

This is the book I personally am most excited for. I absolutely LOVED Half City (book 1) and have had Cursed City pre-ordered on Allurial months ago. If you haven’t heard of this series, it’s like Buffy the Vampire Slayer went to a demon-hunting school, and Angel is a hot professor.

The False Vow

This is book 2 of the Weaver Bride series, which is part Gilded Age Murder Mystery, part Matchmaking Competition with a unique magic system. I loved the first book. I actually read it as an ARC, then went out and bought the hard copy because I liked it so much. I haven’t pre-ordered this one yet, but will most likely buy the deluxe hardcover to match book 1 once this is out.

The Court of Venus

This is the first book in a new series with Rivals to Lovers, Court intrigue, and a magical tournament. This is one of the potential Allurial books coming up, and what I have read about it so far is something I’d like to pick up. If it isn’t in Allurial, I’ll end up checking it out on Kindle Unlimited.

Trade Wife

This is the horror version of Yesteryear. I’m hoping I enjoy it more than I did Yesteryear, which I somehow hated but liked at the same time. I think with this one the main POV will be the journalist rather than the Trad Wife Influencer will make me enjoy it more. I love the concept of both this and Yesteryear, so hoping I like this one more.

Trust Fall

This is another Autumn-themed RomCom that is labeled YA, so I’m guessing low/no spice. It’s a Rags to Riches story about a small-town girl and a big city boy. I feel like this will be a quick and cozy read for a cold weekend day, and I most likely will get it on Kindle.

While this comes out in September, this is clearly a Winter holiday romance and one I will probably get around to reading while I’m on vacation at Christmas time. This one involves Friends to Lovers, a Time Loop, and a small town romance.

I feel like this is my widest variety list this month, since I’m going from a sweet Christmas Romance to a Horror Monster RomCom which should be perfect for Halloween. Where else can you get a city-dwelling cryptid who falls in love at first sight with a Boston professor, and she ventures out from her home to find him?

Another Horror Romance but with less comedy. This is the week of multiple horror options, which makes sense going into October. The description is what got me. Gothic romance is becoming pretty popular overall, but adding some folk horror makes it a bit more unique.

This week alone will keep me busy for at least half a month of reading (if longer). There are a few of these available on Kindle Unlimited at least, so it might save me SOME money, but quite a few I’ll need to fork over the money for. I love my Kindle, but I do love my hard copies of books because they can’t take back the license on a hard copy. I’d love to hear what September releases you are looking forward to the most!
