Carl and Princess Donut have made it to the 9th level of the Dungeon, where Faction Wars take place. Normally, the Faction Wars are a giant play-war between all the major powers of the universe, but this time it’s different. This year, the crawlers have their own faction led by Carl and Princess Donut, which is paid for by the Princess Posse. In previous dungeons, the crawlers were merely fodder, and most did not survive this level that had made it that far. The AI of the dungeon has also gone completely primal and has trapped all the major powers in the dungeon and turned off all normal safety measures. For the first time in thousands of years, there was a real danger to all the powerful people of the universe.
On top of the crawlers having their own faction, the NPCs had their own team and were allowed to finally protect what they had.
This book actually made me cry a few times. I thought the Eye of the Bedlam Bride gave me the feels, but this one broke my heart a few times. I’m so glad I read this right before the next book came out, because I’m not sure how I’d manage to wait months instead of weeks to find out what happens next.
Loved the book, and if you’ve gotten this far in the series, I doubt anything I say would sway you one way or another to read it.
