This month is going to be hard on my TBR. There are just so many books I am interested in checking out, including several sequels to titles I’m highly anticipating and have definitely pre-ordered. This is the week that has the least amount of books I’m adding to my TBR, but there are a few that I’m definitely looking forward to.

The Emperor’s Enemy
September 15, 2026
I am a pretty big fan of Jasmine Mas, and this new series is already calling my name. I’m not going to pre-order it, however, just because I think there’s a chance it will be in one of my various monthly book boxes.
“The Emperor’s Enemy is an addictive true enemies-to-lovers dark romantasy with a heroine who doesn’t need saving, an enemy she can’t escape, and a war neither of them plans to lose.”

Never Your Valentine
September 15, 2026
This is just a cozy, small-town romantic comedy with a grumpy/sunshine and opposites attract romance. It just seems like a fun read, and just getting it in my TBR to read in February for a Valentine’s rom com.
“He’s anti-love. She’s its biggest fan.”

Daughter of the Dark
September 15, 2026
This one I initially added to my list because I loved the cover. Then I read the description, and I’m a sucker for demon slayers and slow-burn enemies-to-lovers. I came for the cover and stayed for the plot.
“From death she rises. For love, she falls.”

Grim Tidings
September 15, 2026
Good Spirits was one of my Christmas gifts to myself to read while visiting my family, and this is the next in B.K.Borison’s Ghosted series. She’s known for her romance novels and is up there for me along with Ali Hazelwood for the genre. This is one I pre-ordered and am excited to read.
“When a runaway grim reaper tries to save a life, she clashes with a skeptical Guardian, forcing them to form an unlikely partnership beyond the grave.”

Doomsdate
September 15, 2026
I think that any time I see a book that is an Apocalypse RomCom, I have to read it. I just love the mash of genres that should be on opposite corners of the spectrum. And not only is this an Apocalypse, but it’s a ZOMBIE Apocalypse. So I will find time to read this once my bank account recovers from all the other books releasing this month.
“When a first date between a doomsday prepper and a nerdy film professor goes horribly, zombie-apocalypse-level wrong, the mismatched pair team up on a road trip to safety in this delightfully feral rom-com.”
Only five new releases for this particular week. Keep an eye out for my next post for the week of September 22, 2026, where I have another 5 books you should be adding to your TBR.
