This month is going to be hard on my TBR. There are just so many books I am interested in checking out, including several sequels to titles I’m highly anticipating and have definitely pre-ordered.

If you read The Knight and the Moth, this should be an easy decision to read this Gothic Sequel. I know I am!

“Rachel Gillig, the queen of gothic romantasy, returns with higher stakes, darker mysteries, and deeper longings in this gorgeous sequel to the #1 New York Times bestselling sensation The Knight and the Moth.”

Another book 2, sequel to Worthy of Fate. I’ve already pre-ordered this, and I’m very excited to dig into this one!

“As dark forces gather to claim the realms, Ryker, Kya, and Zalen must master their own deadly challenges to stop them in this pulse-pounding second book in the Realms In Peril series.”

I’m always down for a Gilded Age-inspired Magical Romance, and this is no exception. I got this one as an ARC, so you definitely should check it out. This will just get me mentally prepared for The False Vow later in the month. (Another Gilded Age Fantasy Romance)

“Sparks fly in this Gilded Age novel of mystery, magic, and romance by the author of the New York Times–bestselling Beasts of Prey.”

I’m mostly excited about this because it’s a new story by James Islington. If you have checked out The Will of the Many yet, then what are you waiting for?! I also have a soft spot for anything that resembles Blade Runner, so this is definitely on my TBR.

“John Wick meets Blade Runner in this fast-paced cyberpunk thriller by the #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Will of the Many and The Strength of the Few.”

This is rumored to be part of the September Book of the Month box, and it’s a Cozy Fantasy that’s right up my alley. I won’t pre-order this one, because if it does end up in Book of the Month, I’ll get it as my monthly pick.

From NYT bestselling author Ann Aguirre comes a cozy fae fantasy romance featuring a sunshine-shadow slow burn, a grumpy-but-secretly-tender love interest, an unforgettable found family, and a world lush with wildcraft magic.

September is the official start of Fall for me in my mind, and something about witches and Gothic vibes just screams fall for me. Overall, this one just sounded pretty cool.

“Two women, bound by blood and betrayal, must break silence across centuries—or be silenced forever”

Please let me know if any other books are coming out the week of September 1st, 2026, you think I should check out!
