🏒 Hockey Romance | 🤝 Fake Relationship | ⚔️ Enemies-to-Lovers
Okay, I’ve gotten on the Hockey Romance bandwagon. I tried to stay strong, but I’ve finally caved after watching Off Campus on Amazon Prime
I did not start with Elle Kennedy’s Off Campus series, Icebreaker, nor Heated Rivalry. I started with Offside by Avery Keelan – mostly because it was available on Kindle Unlimited. It has a similar setup as Off Campus – Hockey bro Carter Chase, son of NHL legend, starts up a fake relationship with Bailey. In this case, however, the backstories are a bit different than Off Campus. Bailey is actually an avid hockey fan; she’s a fan of her university’s team, the Bulldogs, and Carter actually plays for the rival local university. ⛸️
It’s set up more as an enemy-to-lovers after Bailey is dumped on her birthday by Luke, the Captain of the Bulldog’s team and best friend of her brother, Derek. She meets Carter at a bar when she goes out with her friends, and she knows who he is, but he doesn’t know (at first) who she is. There’s instant attraction, and Bailey ends up getting very drunk, and Carter ends up taking care of her. She realises he’s not that bad of a guy despite hating him on principle. 🍻
The Bulldogs and Falcons play, and while Bailey waits for her brother after the game, Luke comes out with his new girlfriend (it’s been less than a week since they broke up), and Carter saves Bailey by pretending to be her new boyfriend. And the story goes off from there.
4 out of 5 stars and raccoons. ⭐⭐⭐⭐🦝🦝🦝🦝
