Book Review: Bloom & Blood by Eva Chase

Elodie was living destitute with her three matches (aka mates) when she was abruptly pulled into an alternate universe where the Alt-Universe Elodie was murdered, and her Aunt wants to find out who did it. Elodie only wants to get back to her matches, but the Aunt she never met in her universe was unable to send her back at that time. So Elosie begrudgingly agrees to look into Other Elodie’s death. Her biggest problem was avoiding her matches that Other Elodie had yet to match with, but for some reason, they kept coming out of the woodwork and noticing her, which she attributed to her already knowing they were Other Elodie’s would-be matches.

The overall concept was interesting. I wish she had more interactions with her matches, as those were my favorite parts of the story. I also wished the book had revealed a bit more of the actual mystery, as you only got part of the answers by the end of the book. I’ll probably continue on the series when the next one comes out because I’m curious about what comes next. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
