Book Review: Gracie Gets Lucky by Lexi Davis

Gracie Gets Lucky is a quick St Patrick’s Day themed Novella. It is about a recently dumped Gracie, hoping to get over her ex on St Patrick’s Day in Boston, and her best friend Beck, who is in love with her. It’s a quick, enjoyable read, and while it’s a somewhat predictable storyline, I really appreciated how much history the author was able to include without it feeling shoved down your throat. You really felt like Gracie and Beck had been best friends all the way from Kindergarten through college. You can see the mutual longing and the awkwardness they had with each other, which felt very authentic. I feel like many of us have been in that situation where you start something in a public area, only to have to take the journey elsewhere to continue the evening, and stuff starts to feel awkward, and you second-guess yourself.

Overall, I liked it and might check out some of the author’s other longer novels.

I received an advance copy of this for free and am leaving a review voluntarily.
